Kansas City’s Law School Campaign

During my tenure as Director of Communications at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, I was a key member of the strategic marketing committee, leading the development and implementation of the “UMKC Law: Kansas City’s Law School” campaign. As one of several law school’s in the region, this initiative aimed to strengthen UMKC’s connection with Kansas City and position the law school as an integral part of the local community and a destination for prospective students.

My Role and Contributions
My responsibilities included:
Research and Strategy Development: Conducting competitor analysis, focus groups, and surveys to shape a campaign that resonated with our target audience.
Implementation: Created new recruitment materials as well as written and visual content across multiple platforms highlighting the campaign slogan.
Website Redesign: Leading a website overhaul to highlight Kansas City’s influence on the school and its students, working with a programmer and intern to refine content, design, and functionality.

Impact
This campaign successfully boosted UMKC Law’s applications and enrollment, reinforcing the school’s identity as Kansas City’s main law school and enhancing its reputation within the legal community.
